Heirloom Bloom
Did you know our favorite Southern staples—okra, collards, mustard greens,
squash—flower before they feed us?
Each bloom is a quiet celebration. The soft yellow of an okra flower, the bright
pop of mustard blossoms, the curling vines of pumpkin—they remind us that
nourishment starts in beauty. This collection was born from that revelation.
Rooted in tradition and full of texture and color, these patterns pay homage to the holiday
dinner traditions and our grandmothers’ kitchens that shaped African-American culture. Okra, in
particular, carries deep significance: brought to the Americas through the African
diaspora, it became a symbol of resilience, adaptation, and home.
With a warm, autumnal palette inspired by the vegetables we harvest and the
flowers that surprise us along the way, Heirloom Bloom is a love letter to the
overlooked details—the floral beginnings of our favorite dishes.
This is Southern nostalgia with a botanical twist. I think I might just toss a few in my garden
and see what happens 🤗
